Leopard BehaviorThe leopard is a very adaptable animal and can be found in many habitats. It is a solitary animal, and mostly nocturnal. Leopards use scent marking and scratch marks to define their territories. They communicate by grunting, growling, hissing and meowing. The leopard is an agile predator and an opportunistic hunter. Its diet is very flexible. It mainly eats gazelle, monkeys, jackals, wildebeest, impala, snakes, birds and rats. The leopard likes to stalk its prey from the trees.
